You can’t throw a rock these days without hitting someone who thinks RIM is doomed, but you wouldn’t think so when you put the latest BlackBerry Bold in your hand. The good: The PlayStation Vita delivers amazing visuals on its 5-inch OLED touch screen that look almost as good as PS3 graphics. The system’s launch lineup is very impressive and allows for downloading of some games (including all first-party titles) over the PlayStation Network. The Vita’s operating system is smartly designed, easy to use, and ultraresponsive. The unit feels great to hold and has excellent standby battery life. Read the rest of this entry »

Needless to say, Pioneer’s Steez Boomboxes, are not your traditional portable speaker system. They come in three sizes and I received the biggest of the trio, the Steez Crew. Pioneer has developed this product with dancers in mind. So suffice to say, it’s not really designed for anyone that is looking for a simple boombox, as further emphasized by its bold design and bright finish. Read the rest of this entry »

3D cameras are cool, but often they’re a pain to use. That “pain” translates to their being left aside while regular 2D digital cameras get center stage. So you’d think that any camera that can shoot 3D video in high-def AND 3D pics would get precedent over its 2D cousin? Wrong. And that’s not good for promoting 3D use. Read the rest of this entry »

Oh for sure, you can lug around that big expensive gaming headset you got for your main PC or console, but it’s probably a lot bulkier than you’d want to deal with on a daily basis. That’s where the TeKnMotion Intruder headset comes in to play. Read the rest of this entry »

Most tablets have followed Apple’s design for thinness and design: make it as light, and perhaps as small, as possible. Keep the screen big, but the size has to remain small. Tablets like Samsung’s Galaxy Tabs or the Motorola Xyboards are exactly like that. But Sony entered the tablet market in a completely different. Their tablet doesn’t follow the traditional norms, today’s industry standards. That is only one of the things that makes the Tablet S unique, and thankfully in a good way. We first saw the Cyborg R.A.T. 7 back in January when it was first announced at CES 2010 and despite its unusual appearance; we were pleasantly surprised by its ergonomic feel. With interchangeable palm and finger rests, custom weight management, a wide range of orientation control, personalized DPI settings, and seven programmable buttons, the R.A.T. 7 is one of the most unique and ambitious design efforts we’ve seen in a gaming mouse. But like all peripherals, design only accounts for so much – does the Cyborg R.A.T. 7 live up to expectations, or is it all flash? Find out in our full review. Read the rest of this entry »
